Seeking a Physical Therapist (PT) for a Physical Therapy position in homecare.  The Physical Therapist does NOT need experience in the home health care setting- we are willing to train a Physical Therapist as long as the Physical Therapist has at least one year practicing in any setting.  This Home Health Care Physical Therapy (PT) position is full-time benefited position (Health, dental, vision, paid time off, and 401K) or in lieu of benefits you can get a higher rate of pay.  This home care agency is therapist-owned and prefers a Full-time Physical Therapist to fill this need but may consider a part-time Physical Therapist.   Due to the fact that all of the Physical Therapy treatments will all be in just those few towns, travel will be minimal.  Therefore, the Physical Therapist will often be able to complete each treatment including travel in under an hour, and therefore get 40 hours of pay in less than 40 hours.  It is also a very flexible job- the Physical Therapist makes their own hours.  If the PT has an appointment or need a half day, you just schedule your patients around it.  We will also consider paying the per diem rate and guaranteeing the Physical Therapist as many hours as they want per week up to full-time, if the PT prefers.

Rate of pay:

The full-time therapist would have a chance to make as much as they want in that you would get paid per visit with no cap on the number of visits you could do.  Depending on experience, the therapist would get paid $55-$60 per visit with benefits, and each visit takes about a half an hour and then with paperwork and travel the therapist could get each visit done in under an hour.  So if you did only 30 visits per week you would make $85,800 to $93,600 and if you did 40 visits per week, you could make $114,400 to $124,800 per year (40 visits per week x $60 per visit = 124,800).

There is also the option to be full-time at the per diem rate and forego benefits.  The pay for that is $60-$65 depending on experience and the therapist would make 93,600-101,400 for just 30 visits per week.  The therapist treats the patient for about a half an hour and travel is no more than 20 mins to the next patient's house, so you can get each visit done in about an hour.  There is also no cap on the number of visits the therapist is allowed to do and there are plenty of visits available, so if the physical therapist wanted to do 40 visits per week the therapist could, and would make $124,800-135,200 per year ($65 per visit x 40 visits per week x 52 weeks= $135,200 per year!).

Benefits of the Home Health Physical Therapist position:

  • The pay is very generous
  • Health Insurance
  • Dental
  • Vision
  • Paid time of f(The amount can be negotiated depending on whether the therapist wants more time off or more pay).
  • Short term disability
  • Long term disability
  • Continuing education reimbursement
  • Paid mileage

HOME HEALTH CARE PT JOB REQUIREMENTS:  The Physical Therapist must have at least a year of experience in any setting with adults or geriatrics (a year of licensed experience).  The Physical Therapist must have a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy.  The Physical Therapist must have a license to practice Physical Therapy in the state.  The Physical Therapist MUST either be a US Citizen or have your green card- no exceptions.  The Physical Therapist MUST be willing and able to work at least some daytime hours - this is not a position that you can just do AFTER another full-time position- if you are not full-time, than to be considered for part-time or per diem you will need to be able to dedicate at least some daytime hours.
